Summer House Comporta

Summer House Comporta

Architecture | Residential | Comporta – Portugal

THE ARCHITECTURE AND INTERIOR DESIGN PROJECT OF THIS "CABANA" HOUSE IN COMPORTA, EMBRACES THE TRADITIONAL SHAPE OF THE REGION'S POPULAR ARCHITECTURE WHILE SEAMLESSLY INTEGRATING MODERN CONSTRUCTION SYSTEMS AND THE CONTEMPORARY AESTHETIC CHARACTERISTIC OF CRISTINA JORGE DE CARVALHO'S ATELIER.

Featuring a charming, thatched roof, robust raw concrete walls, and the warmth of recycled wood, this design artfully combines the rustic charm of traditional cottages with sleek contemporary updates, while integrating sustainable luxury in residential design.

While paying homage to the cottages of old, the interior design introduces spacious proportions and expansive windows that dissolve the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces. This seamless integration creates a fluid connection where the tranquility of nature becomes an integral part of daily living.

Inside, the minimalist aesthetic of the interior design enhances the sense of openness and tranquility, amplifying the serene atmosphere. Each room is carefully crafted to maximize natural light and ventilation, enhancing the overall sense of spaciousness and comfort.

The result is a contemporary interpretation of a summer house, where the lines between inside and outside blur effortlessly. This approach not only invites inhabitants to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of their surroundings but also fosters a deep appreciation for sustainable living practices.

In essence, this Comporta cabana project exemplifies a harmonious blend of traditional architectural elements with modern sensibilities, creating a sanctuary that embodies both timeless charm and contemporary elegance.
